Machik has long committed to fostering a new generation of bright and responsible Tibetans through mentorship and enrichment programs
We believe in investing in the next generation of Tibetans from Tibet and the importance of creating peace-building platforms among young Tibetans, Chinese, and global citizens. Drawn together by a shared concern for the challenges confronting contemporary Tibet, young Tibetans, Chinese and other young global citizens convened and continue to convene at Machik youth leadership programs to participate in dynamic programs in furthering our collective global future. Through events like the annual Summer Enrichment Program and Mentorship, young Tibetans and Chinese have been provided a forum to reflect as global citizens on their differences while also developing a shared sense of stake in a transformative future for Tibet. The effect of Machik’s youth leadership dialogues has been to grow awareness about the daunting challenges in Tibet, while strengthening the commitment of young people to work toward sustainable peace and reconciliation through the project of civic engagement.
