Machik Lindsay Benefit Dinner
Machik Fest is an annual community gathering in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. This year it is October 21-27th, 2015.
The roots of Machikfest are the Lindsay Tibetan dinners which began in 2004 as a community effort to support the education of young students in the Chungba Valley of Tibet. For twelve years Lindsay residents Pencho and Tsering Rabgey have inspired a team of dedicated volunteers whose fundraising has contributed to the construction and management of the highly successful Chungba Primary and Middle Schools.
Machikfest, a week-long celebration, includes a free public lecture, the screening of an award-winning documentary film, and local school outreach. The highlight of Machikfest, however, is the original event, the Bazaar and Dinner, featuring delicious traditional Tibetan cuisine.
