John Epple & Zamling Antiques
John Epple is a Washington, DC antiques dealer specializing in Tibetan Antiques, Tibetan Rugs, Chinese and Japanese Antiques
“A number of years ago, I had the good fortune to stumble upon Tsering and Tashi Rabgey selling Tibetan rugs in Eastern Market in Washington DC. After speaking to them for just a few minutes and learning what they were doing, I said, ‘OK, I’m in.’ As a dealer of Tibetan antique furniture, Chinese and Japanese antiques, I had already developed an affinity for the region. However, the story of the school captured my attention and, soon enough, my heart. The school, the work of Machik and the range of donors and volunteers here and abroad are a testament to the dedication and goodness of many people. A few years ago, I journeyed to the Chungba school. Quite an adventure getting there, but all worthwhile. The school is a special place. The hard work and dedication of the staff and teachers is reciprocated by the children in their enthusiasm for learning, joy and the belief that we can all learn, dream and grow as people in order to make a better world possible. I have purchased and sold many of the Tibetan rugs in order to support the school and am now offering a number of my Tibetan furniture antiques to help support Machik. There are a number of pieces on location at Machik and others can be viewed at www.zamlingantiques.com along with many Tibetan rugs that support the Chungba school. All rugs are priced at normal wholesale or below. Please feel free contact me if I can help in any way. Local delivery will be provided by the ‘Machik Moving Company.'” [Sincere thanks to John Epple for all the moving help he has generously provided in the DC area over the years! – ed]
