In Memory: Mary Vocelka

Machik is blessed with an incredible network of Eastern Sierra supporters in Bishop, California. We deeply regret to learn of the loss of one of those incredible individuals, Mary Vocelka. Mary and her family were invaluable contributors to the Emergency 11 fund, which enabled 11 students to attend middle school who were otherwise without means. Machik is indebted to Mary and the Bishop community for showing up at a very critical time to help lay the foundations for education in a rural Tibetan township. Thanks to this groundwork a middle school is going to open in the community, which will eliminate the need for emergency funds in the future.
