We were pleased to invite you to a Machik Film Screening with TAFM featuring Wangdrak's Rain Boots by Lhapal Gyal on Saturday, 7 December, 1:30–3:30pm: Screening & Discussion.
The film followed the story of Wangdrak, a spirited and determined child in a mountain village in Tibet, who dreamed of having rain boots like those of other children for the rain puddles on their way to school. Lhapal Gyal, a student of Pema Tseden, offered a touching and sensitive debut film that explored a child's perspective on friendship and daily life in a rural community against breathtaking Tibetan landscapes.
While the screening was free, donations were welcome and benefited filmmakers from Tibet. We were truly grateful to the Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota team for their support in making this event possible.
Attendees were invited to RSVP at [email protected], and walk-ins were also welcome.
