Help Stock a Library through the Jolkona Foundation!

Machik is excited to announce the launch of our partnership with the Jolkona Foundation.  Jolkona, which means 'drop of water' in Bengali, is a Seattle-based non-profit which seeks to support innovative and high-impact organizations by connecting them to philanthropic-minded individuals who want to make direct and effective donations.  The Jolkona Foundation hopes to encourage the public and more specifically the 15-35 year age group, to be more involved with the issues affecting our world and thus serves as a giving model aimed at the younger generations.

Through their website, the Jolkona Foundation connects donors directly to partners like Machik, so that they can easily track the impact of their small donations, typically around $100.  Donations to Machik through Jolkona's website go directly to the purchase of books and media for the Chungba Middle School library.  Donations are tax-deductible and 100% of the contribution goes to the project.  Donors are also given a list of specific books or media purchased with their contributions.
